Panth Rattan Suba Ganda Singhji was born in the year 1952 Bikarmi(1895 A.D) in a village called Godlawalay district of Gujrawalay. His parents were Sardar Dayal Singhji and Bibi Gujriji. Ganda Singhji learnt Gurmukhi at a very young age and was ever absorbed in The Prayer of Japji Sahib. His grandfather's brother, Baba Jhanda Singhji, a very devouted Sikh encouraged the young Ganda Singh(Ganda Singhji was then 11 years old) to read The Janam Sakhi of Guru Nanak Dev Ji to him every evening. Reciting Japji Sahib and reading The Janam Sakhi had a rather direct effect on Ganda Singhji whose Faith in The Akal Purakh Satguru became stronger as days went by and Ganda Singhji became more and more absorbed in The Recital of Gurbani. One morning, when Ganda Singhji slept past his normal routine for a little while, he was Granted The Darshan of Sri Satguru Nanak Dev Ji Who came to wake him up and Ordered him to Recite Japji Sahib.
At the age of 18, Ganda Singhji was married to Bibi Kesar Kaur
of the village Kalera and together they had 4 sons and 3 daughters: Ganda Singhji and a few friends, one of them called Natha Singh, diligently served The Sangat at Amnabad on every Puranmashi day. One day, Natha Singh asked Ganda Singhji if he had received The Gurmantar. To Natha Singh's amazement, Ganda Singhji replied that he hadn't. Natha Singhji therefore accompanied him to visit Sant Kesar Singhji Chavinday Walay who then Blessed Ganda Singhji with The Gurmantar. From healing people hanging on the line of life and death to prediction of future events, many 'Miracles' of Sant Kesar Singhji were personally witnessed by Ganda Singhji. It was infact Santji who Blessed Ganda Singhji with The Awareness of The True Akal Purakh, Sri Satguru Partap Singh Ji Maharaj. Once Ganda Singhji's eldest daughter, Bibi Piar Kaur, came down with an illness that even the doctors could not cure. As her condition got worse, Ganda Singhji found no one else to turn to other than Sant Kesar Singhji. Upon learning the situation of Bibi Piar Kaur, Santji, who had great love for children, reached The State of 'Mast' and let out a Shout asking for Satguru Ram Singh Ji's Kirpa(Blessing). He then came out of 'Mast Birti', gave Gurmantar to the young Piar Kaur, and told Ganda Singhji that he had postponed Bibi Piar Kaur's date of demise. Just as Ganda Singhji took his daughter home, Bibi Piar Kaur was completely restored to health on the way home. After Sant Kesar Singhji left his earthly body with the age of over 100 years old, Mistri Ganda Singhji(Sri Satguru Partap Singh Ji had Titled him a 'Mistri' - mechanic/engineer) devoutedly served Satguruji complying to His Holiness's every Wish and Command. Although Ganda Singhji didnot pass an engineering test from the worldly point of view, he was, through his works, a true engineer indeed. His first work of craftsmanship, as per The Order of Satguruji, was a musical instrument called Dilruba. He then crafted many more musical instruments such as a special harmonium for Sri Satguru Jagjit Singh Ji. Being a great engineer that he was, Mistri Ganda Singhji always believed in doing work with his own 2 hands. He was working on a large machine one day when he suddenly realized that his right arm was stuck between 2 gears of the running machine. From the corner of his eyes he saw Satguru Partap Singh Ji Appearing infront of him at once and pushing his arm out of the machine. Some time later, when Sri Satguru Partap Singh Ji Visited Mistriji to ask about his condition, Mistriji tried to remind Him how His Holiness had saved him but Satguruji at once Ordered Mistriji to be quiet and told him that Whoever wanted to save Mistriji has already done so. Although a small part of his arm was cut by the machine, with Satguruji's Blessings, Mistriji soon recovered and continued serving The Sangat as well as The Gurdwara.
It was infact Mistriji's very 2 hands that constructed
the great Havan Kund(Picture below), as per The Order of Sri Satguru Partap Singh Ji, where
litterally lakhs, if not millions, of The Powerful Prayer, Chandi Di Vaar,
have been performed and is continued to be used, as per The Order of
Sri Satguru Jagjit Singh Ji, from time to
time. The Havan Kund also boasted one of Mistriji's great inginuities. It was fitted with 5 water containers and 5 ghee containers that automatically release their contents when affected by the heat of the Fire. To protect the Mastanas from running into the blazing Fire, a fence was also constructed. In 1939 A.D. during the second world war, Mistriji was Ordered by Satguruji to take his(Mistriji's) family to Gurdwara Sri Bhaini Sahib. There he lived for about 10-12 days and was again Ordered to travel to Mandi where it was safer. He was also Given The Task of protecting Sri Satguru Ram Singh Ji's Aad Granth Sahib and some other important Volumes. With many Seva(Services) done by Mistriji, he was very much trusted by Sri Satguru Partap Singh Ji that he was given the great Title of Sant Ganda Singh Ji. At the time when Sri Satguru Partap Singh Ji Decided to Leave His Holy Body, Sant Ganda Singhji was also Given The Order to immediately travel to Gurdwara Sri Bhaini Sahib. Unfortunately, he received the message at about 10.30 pm and there was no bus scheduled for Sri Bhaini Sahib. Santji therefore had to wait for the first bus scheduled for the next day. The next day, at a bus stop, Santji noticed many other Namdhari Sikhs getting on the bus. Out of curiosity, he asked them where they were going. The Sikhs replied that they were going to Gurdwara Sri Bhaini Sahib because Sri Satguru Partap Singh Ji had Left His Holy Body the previous midnight. Santji could not believe what he heard. It was as if they were all lying to him because just a week ago he was present at The Gurdwara and was Ordered by Satguruji to return to his home in Delhi. At Sri Bhaini Sahib, Santji's only thought was that he was first blessed by Sant Kesar Singh Ji with The Gurmantar and was personally told who The True Guru was. But The True Guru had left him without personally telling him whose 'Arm' he should get a hold of. With this thought in mind, he approached Sri Satguru Jagjit Singh Ji Maharaj and asked for permission to leave for his home in Delhi. At once Satguruji Himself tightly Held Santji's arm and Ordered him to stay for another 22 days. With Satguruji's Actions, Santji's doubts disappeared and he realized whose 'Arm' Satguru Partap Singh Ji had Directed him to take hold of. Santji therefore obeyed Satguruji's Hukam and stayed at Sri Bhaini Sahib until he was Given the permission to leave. For about 2 years Sant Ganda Singhji's house in Delhi became The Dera(Residence) of Satguruji whenever His Holiness would visit Delhi. After The Mela at Damdama, Sant Kartar Singhji(Bijli Walay) requested at Satguruji's Holy Feet that His Holiness Bless The Sangat of Delhi with a Suba. Satguruji Answered his Prayers and Announced Sant Ganda Singhji as The Suba of Delhi. Subaji Devoutedly served The Sangat under his new Title. But as days went by, his health started deteriorating as he got older. In 1961 Subaji became extremely sick. The doctors did all they could but were unsuccessful to cure his illness. To Subaji and his family, there was no much hope left for his survival. Subaji therefore ordered his son, Beant Singh, to send a telegram for Sri Satguruji to Grant him Audience one last time before his body expires. When The Holy Father Heard of His child's condition, He at once Ordered a Sikh, Gurdev Singh, to get the car ready for traveling to Ludhiana. At 8 p.m. Satguruji reached Dr. Gujarmal's house in Ludhiana. Gujarmalji was, at that time, at his farm, so Satguruji went to the farm to see him. It was already 9 p.m. Satguruji Himself Decided to drive and without any obstruction on the road, His Holiness reached Subaji's residence at about midnight. Subaji was in a slumber when Satguruji placed His Divine Hand over his head. Satguruji then Held his arm and shook him. Subaji opened his eyes to see The Sight he had been waiting for. Satguruji Ordered the doctor to carefully diagnose and treat Subaji's illness. Doctor Gujarmal complied with Satguruji's Hukam and gave Subaji a tablet of his medicine. After about 5 minutes, Subaji was asked if he was feeling better, but Subaji replied that he wasn't. Hazoor Singh, Subaji's youngest brother who was not even a doctor, was then Ordered by Satguruji to do whatever he could to cure Subaji. Hazoor Singh, Blessed by Satguruji, at once complied with Satguruji's Command and asked for Subaji's wife, Bibi Kesar Kaurji, to bring a Garhrwa(Steel Pot) which he placed at Subaji's back on the right hand side. Subaji himself said about the incident that at the very moment Hazoor Singh placed the Garhrwa at his back, he saw 2 very ugly faces, one infront of him and the other behind him, were pulling him towards their own sides. After a while, the one behind him successfully pulled him away from the other and at that point, his body felt like it was completely cured of the disease. Satguruji then Asked Subaji how he was feeling. He replied that with Satguruji's Kirpa(Blessings) he had been completely restored to health. With Satguruji's Divine Kirpa, Subaji's body was put far away from all diseases and he resumed his work of serving The Sangat such as arranging for Anand Karaj(Khalsa Marriage Ceremony), solving conflicts between Sikhs, Giving The Gurmantar and putting people on the right path. Subaji would walk to Dharamsala Ramesh Nagar everyday at AmritVela(Before Sun Rise) and would always be ever absorbed in Bhajan(Nam-Simran) and Recital of GurBani. In 1982, Subaji was again plagued by illness. For 4 months, he was in his bed but his conditions did not improve. Subaji then asked his daughter to request at Sri Satguruji's Holy Feet to come over and Bless him. The Prayer reached Satguruji who Visited Subaji after The Asa Di Vaar at Dharamsala Ramesh Nagar was concluded. However, Subaji was too sick to get out of his bed and bow at Satguruji's Charan(Divine Feet), so His Holiness Blessed him by placing His Charan on Subaji's bed Himself. Subaji's son-in-law, Sant Singh, requested Satguruji for Subaji's operation to be arranged but Satguruji Declined the request Saying that an operation should never be performed on Subaji. Just after Sri Satguruji Left Subaji's residence, Subaji's family once again witnessed The Akal's Divine Blessings. Subaji, who had been sick in bed for months, was completely restored to health without any operation or even any medicine. However, a few days later, Subaji was plagued by a mild fever. At that time, Subaji's daughter, Beant Kaur, and her husband, Sant Singh, were planning to go to Kulu-Manali during the summer. Prior to the trip, however, they plan to visit Gurdwara Sri Bhaini Sahib to Gain Darshan of Satguruji. Subaji therefore asked Sant Singh to convey his Ardas to Satguruji that he was being plagued by a mild fever and was starting to feel sick again. Subaji then told Sant Singh to request Satguruji to Bless him in a similar way that Sri Satguru Balak Singh Ji had Blessed Sant Amar Singh Ji with a small portion of sugar and got rid of his fever. Satguruji Answered Subaji's Prayers and Ordered for him to take 2 black tablets in the morning, 2 at noon and 2 in the evening. However, Subaji were already taking the black tablets and they were not doing him any good. Satguruji, however, Ordered that 'The Hands' that have given these tablets, are different ones. Subaji's son, Gurmukh Singh, was given the instructions as Ordained by Satguruji and he returned to Subaji and gave him the very tablets which were taken by Subaji as Directed by Satguruji. Complying to Satguruji's GurBani, Subaji's health was once again restored with The Kirpa of Satguruji. No longer was he plagued by any fever. In the year 1986 during The HolaMahalla celebration, Suba Ganda Singhji along with Sant Waryam Singhji Musawar were Titled 'Panth Rattan' by Sri Satguruji for their untiring services rendered to The Sadh Sangat. In the year 1989, Subaji's health once again deteriorated. He was then about 94 years old. The doctor had to give him food via plastic tubings inserted into his nose. Though his body's condition was getting worse by the day, his Faith in The Guru remained unshakable. When Harvinder Singhji Hanspal came to visit him, Subaji folded his hands and requested him to send his one Ardas of 'always making Subaji His Own' to Sri Satguru Jagjit Singh Ji Maharaj whenever he could Gain Darshan of Satguruji. Subaji had set a Picture of Sri Satguruji beside his bed and during the day, he would many times wipe It with his Dastaar(Turban) and fold his hands in reverence. 7th Harhr 2046 Bikarmi(20th June 1989 A.D.) at about 10 p.m. Maharaj Bir Singhji visited Subaji. Subaji's health was in a bad condition and Maharaj Ji had to place his foot on the bed for Subaji to bow down at. Then at about 2 p.m. while listening to Satguru Partap Singh Ji's, Satguru Jagjit Singh Ji's and Sant Kesar Singh Chavinday Walay's GurBani and Divine Bachans from his daughter, Beant Kaur, Panth Rattan Suba Ganda Singhji took one last deep breath and effortlessly left his earthly body for the Heavenly Abode. His Saskar(funeral) was done on the next day in the presence of Maharaj Bir Singhji at Namdhari Dharamsala Ramesh Nagar and the final death rites(Bhog) performed on 21st Harhr 2046 Bikarmi(4th July 1989 A.D.) in The Presence of Sri Satguru Jagjit Singh Ji Maharaj.
Subaji's Nitnem was as follow: Such was Panth Rattan Suba Ganda Singhji who, until his last day, remained ever absorbed in The Grace of Guru. Subaji was indeed such a Devouted Sikh that Sri Satguru Jagjit Singh Ji Maharaj Ordered at Subaji's Bhog that:
