(Chandi Charittar - Dasam Granth Sahib)
After The Singhs' Martyrdom in various places including that in Amritsar and Malerkotla and Sri Satguru Ram Singh Ji's exile, The Sangat had to withstand many tortures from the cruel english government.
Gurdwara Sri Bhaini Sahib was under heavy surveillance by the police at all times, for they were fearful of what The Kukas will do next in order to shake their very roots.
No more than 5 Namdhari Singhs were allowed to congregate anywhere and no more than 5 were allowed to enter Gurdwara Sri Bhaini Sahib at one time to Seek The Blessings of Sri Satguru Hari Singh Ji.
Muslim guards were employed to watch over The Gurdwara and needless to say, they tortured The Sikhs in all ways possible to them.
Yet, with The Grace of The Guru, The Namdhari Sikhs, rightly called The Torch-Bearers of Freedom, were never discouraged.
At the Time when Sri Satguru Partap Singh Ji Ascended The Gurgaddi, singh sabha was already created and was continuing with its distortion of Sikh History, giving aids to the english and assisting the malechas in every way.
The Guru's Khalsa, however, remained Faithful to Their Mission and not a single Namdhari entered the 'well-paid' malecha's military despite their shameless persuasions.
The Namdhari Sikhs carried on with their boycott of the english which was later picked up by Mahatma Gandhi even though it was in a somewhat easy-going form.
At the massacre of Jallian Walla Bagh, The Namdhari Sikhs in large number including prominent figures such as Sri Satguru Partap Singh Ji's younger brother, Maharaj Nihal Singhji and the great Scholar, Sant Nidhan Singhji Aalam, were also present.
With Satguruji's Kirpa(Blessings), Maharaj Nihal Singhji and Sant Nidhan Singhji as well as many other Namdhari Sikhs were able to escape the shots fired by the english, but many others weren't as fortunate and their lives were taken by the english's blind bullets.
-*Not a single singh sabha leader was present at Jallian Walla Bagh*-
The Namdhari Sikhs were a Major Source of Inspiration for all those willing to lay down their lives in the Name of Freedom including Shaheed Bhagat Singh, who not only wrote articles about Sri SatGuru Ram Singh Ji Maharaj but is known to have also Received Darshan(Audience) of Sri Satguru Partap Singh Ji and became a Namdhari by receiving The Divine Gurmantar.
Sri Satguru Partap Singh Ji arranged many meetings with the singh sabha leaders as well as Hindus and even muslims in order to unite them all as 1 Nation and to fight for India's freedom.
Under The Guidance of Sri Satguru Partap Singh Ji, numerous Namdhari Sikhs joined the congress party in the fight for independence and with The Guru's Grace, on August 15th 1947, about a hundred years after the british took complete control over India, The Nation finally saw its first light at the end of the tunnel.
Sadly, however, even after independence, India was, and is, still divided. The biggest separation occured between the hindus and muslims which resulted into the formation of pakistan.
With Satguru Partap Singh Ji's Kirpa, however, The Namdhari Sikhs that were residing in what is now known as pakistan were fore-told what was going to happen and a large number of Namdhari Sikhs and those who complied with Satguruji's Hukam(Order) were able to escape the muslims' cruel tortures that followed.
Sri Satguru Partap Singh Ji also Gave a Strict Hukam against any Namdhari from supporting any movement against separation of India. This is why The Namdhari Sikhs' record of involvement in terrorist activities is NONE.
Even today, many hideous terrorist groups in India, who claim the entire Holy Land of Bharat, or some part of it, to be theirs still exist within The Great Nation. Thus The Namdhari Mission is not yet at rest and The Namdhari Sikhs are, as always, supportive of Their Mother-Land.
Today, Under The Divine Guidance of Sri Satguru Jagjit Singh Ji Maharaj, The Khalsa's DeshBhagat(Loyalty towards one's Nation) Spirit is still very much alive and anxiously awaits The Return of The Akal, Sri Satguru Ram Singh Ji Maharaj, Whose Arrival, according to The Hukams of Sri Satguru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj, will be The Ultimate Symbol of Vitory for The Great Freedom Struggle by The Sikhs.
